Museo Etrusco

A recognition is given to Chiusi of its historic importance in understanding what makes a Tuscan today distinct from all the others, with this Museum at the entry end of the historical centre. And idea develops fom this excellent neo classical interpretation of Etruscan classicism of which for some reason, not a lot remains. Could it be that the Romans were jealous and rebuilt everything more in their geometric style?

There is a distinct oriental quality in the Etruscan temple front predating the Greek and Roman tympanum as a marker of the sacred place. Is there something to the idea of the trinity in relation to the divine?

Excerpt from 'The Golden Ass' by Lucius Apuleius:

"I refuse to admit, in theory, that anything in the world is impossible; to do so would be to set myself above the Power that pre-destines all human experience."
