Fugitives

Among the most notable Fugitives were John Crowe Ransom, Allen Tate, Merrill Moore, Donald Davidson, William Ridley Wills, and Robert Penn Warren. In case you were wondering, these were writers, some calling themselves 'structuralists' until others thought it better to be 'post-structural'. In essence like post-modern, a meaningless defintion of some puffs of clouds.

The intriguing adoption of that name suggests the guilt that these people obviously felt, being cocooned forever in quadrangles, in the bright green lawns of the ivy league universities, reading poetry and novels and being paid to talk about it in abtruse nonsensical terms for fear of sounding ordinary.
