The most 'intellectual' of Andrea Palladio's projects in Vicenza, it is a miniature Roman theatre placed inside an innocuous renaissance 'palazzo' complete with a wooden stage and semi-circular seating. The megalomania of an empire is reduced to a more humane size audience, a dramatist's dream come true where memory and modernity may bear fruit.
