Nonsense

The word construction carries the weight of its practitioners lightly.
Forgetting the most rudimentary of principles in the structural assembly.
Life begets life silently or noisily as is the want within these walls
Not withstanding the fantasy involved in making vibrating pulsating halls.
From restaurant services to refuse disposal crevices, their flavours reign.
That is how one builds when no one sees anymore the pleasure from the pain.

When a building collapses, all critical parameters disappear. Its previous existence as a sound looking building standing as though it will last forever is revealed as a lie. The possibility that buildings can collapse makes a nonsense of the modern architect's preoccupation with looks. If the occupants were absent when the building collapsed, at least that is a blessed relief. We do not know anything but T E Lawrence famously declared, "Nothing is written!"

Modern developers spend a lot of money in making strong structures look frail and far less in making frail structures look strong. Lining polystyrene foam on the outside face of buildings surely is an appallingly expedient practice, especially since it is offered as a viable insulation detail. The fact that one can punch a hole in the wall with the fist is surely a grievous defect in a building that is supposed to look strong.
